“Joining Urban Rec was one of the best life choices I’ve ever made. I’ve met great people and had an amazing time staying active.”
Sport Is How We Build Community
Urban Rec has been connecting people through recreational sport since 2001. What started as a single volleyball league in an elementary school gym in Vancouver has grown into a platform that brings tens of thousands of people together every season, and this year, we're proud to celebrate our 25th anniversary.
We started with the belief that sport is one of the most powerful ways to build lasting community. Twenty-five years later, that belief is stronger than ever

You're not the only one! A lot of people who join Urban Rec come in as individuals. You pick your sport, your preferred night, your skill level, and the area you want to play in. We put you on a team. That's it.
If you have a few friends interested, you can register separately and list the same team name and you'll be placed together. No need to arrive with a full roster sorted.
