Playing floor hockey at urban rec Metro Vancouver
Urban Rec Floor Hockey may be a little different from what you are used to. We update our rules to minimise risk, maximise fun, and level the playing field, so you can play at your level. Here's what you can expect when you play floor hockey at Urban Rec Metro Vancouver.

This depends on which floor hockey league you are playing in:
Elementary School Gym leagues:
If you play in one of our Vancouver elementary school leagues, games are played 4-a-side, 3 players and a goalie, due to the smaller size of most of the gyms. A complete starting lineup consists of 3 players and a goalie including at least 1 woman and 1 man on the floor. A team may play with an incomplete starting lineup of as few as 3 players provided there is at minimum 1 woman and 1 man on the floor. A team with less than 3 players or without the minimum 1 woman and 1 man required will be considered a team in default. Most floor hockey teams in these leagues have between 6-10 people on their roster including subs.
Richmond Oval leagues:
If you play at the Richmond Oval, a larger sized court means that games are played 6-a-side, 5 players and a goalie. A complete starting lineup consists of 5 players and a goalie including at least 2 women and 1 man. A team may play with an incomplete starting lineup of as few as 4 players provided there is at minimum 1 woman and 1 man on the floor. A team with less than 4 players or without the minimum 1 woman and 1 man required will be considered a team in default. Most floor hockey teams in these leagues have between 8-12 people on their roster including subs.
